Renee Kathleen Zellweger

Renee Kathleen Zellweger, was born in Katy, Texas on April 25 in 1969. Her mother, Kjellfrid (Andreassen) is an ex-nurse and midwife born in Norway. Kven (Finnish), as well as being of Swedish as well as Norwegian descent. Emil Erich Zellweger is her father. He is a Swiss engineer. They were married in 1963. Drew Zellweger is Renee's brother and was born February 15, 1967. Renee was part of the drama club in high school, and was fascinated by acting. In Austin she also took an acting class and started to explore acting as a career. She was determined to pursue acting after graduating. However, Hollywood can be difficult to make it into therefore Renee decided to remain in Texas and apply for roles around Houston. At the time, she was able to get roles in films such as Reality Bites (1994), and Empire Records (1995). While filming the sequel to that film, Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) she made friends with Matthew McConaughey, another Hollywood rising star. He was working on a project at the time that Renee was interested in, which she auditioned for and ultimately won the part in the movie Love and .45 (1994) which was a huge success and earned her the praise of critics that she decided to relocate to Los Angeles. Another role in The Whole Wide World (1996) followed which led to her breakthrough. Cameron Crowe was busy casting Jerry Maguire (1996) with Tom Cruise. Crowe was considering actresses such as Bridget Fonda (Camden Diaz), Winona Ryder (Winona Ryder) and Marisa Tomei. He was able to see Zellweger's performance from The Whole Wide World (1996). He auditioned Zellweger and was confident that he had found the perfect Dorothy Boyd. Renee continued to be a huge successes with smaller independent films. The film received more praise from critics and was assured that she was able to reenter large-budget Hollywood films. Meryl Streep appeared alongside her in One True Thing (1998). She also took a role in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) with Jim Carrey, and soon after, she began to date Jim Carrey. Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) was her first film in the leading role.
